Group Health Insurance Calculator

Build a clear group-health coverage brief using your team size, age band, selected sum insured and benefit priorities. Use the summary to start an informed quote or renewal discussion.

This tool calculates coverage-planning figures only. It does not estimate or guarantee an insurance premium, eligibility, policy terms or claim outcome.

Configure the workforce plan

Use only high-level planning information. Do not enter personal or medical data.

Enter the approximate number of employees to be covered.
Typical employee age band

This is included in the discussion brief because age mix is relevant to insurer underwriting.

Base sum insured per employee

Choose the hospitalisation cover amount you want to explore in a proposal.

Benefits to include in the discussion

Select only the benefits you want a quote or renewal comparison to address.

Use it before a quote

Use the same workforce assumptions for every insurer proposal so that terms can be compared on a like-for-like basis.

Check terms, not only price

Review limits, exclusions, waiting conditions, co-pay, room eligibility and service processes in the final policy documents.

Keep the information current

Update your employee data and benefit priorities before renewal, joining or implementation conversations.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Does this calculator provide an insurance premium?

No. It creates a coverage-planning summary, not an insurer quotation. Premium depends on the final employee census, age mix, locations, claims history where relevant, requested benefits and insurer underwriting.

Why is the total cover amount not the same as a policy premium?

Total cover is the sum insured selected for each employee multiplied by the entered headcount. It is a planning figure showing the maximum chosen cover across the workforce, not the amount an employer pays for insurance.

Can this be used for an existing policy renewal?

Yes. Use it to document the next-year workforce, desired benefits and cover level before comparing a renewal quotation with any alternative proposals.

What should an employer keep ready for a quote?

Keep a current employee census, work locations, desired family definition, current policy wording if any, renewal date and any claims or service questions ready for the insurer or broker discussion.
